Symmetry in polygons

Objectives
-learn polygons
-use the reflectioinal symmetry and rotational symmetry.
-learn regular polygon, center of a regular polygon, center angle of a regular polygon, and axis of symmetry.

Vocublary:
polygon- a figure formed by three or more segments and at each endpoint each segment intersects exactly at two other segments and no two segments are colliner.
sides of the polygon- the segments of a polygon.
vertices of the polygon- the common endpoints of a polygon.
equiangular polygon-all angles are congruent.
equilateral polygon- all sides are congruent.
regular polygon- all angles are congruent and all sides are congruent.
reflectional symmetry- reflection across the line is exactly the same.
axis of semmetry- the line that is reflectied across.
triangles classified by number of congruent sides-
three congruent sides: equilateral
no congruent sides: scalene
at least two congruent sides: isosceles
Rotational symmetry- has to have at least one rotation, that is not 0 degrees or multiples of 360 degrees that coincides with the original image.
